Xeikon “ever-expanding range of applications”

Today, the Xeikon machines are present everywhere in the world, both in commercial printing, as well as in the field of printing labels and packaging. With digital presses, Xeikon products and CTP machines for conventional offset plate (basysPrint) and for flexo imager (ThermoFlexX).

Reputable global manufacturer of high quality digital presses, a Belgian company Xeikon, has been present on the market since 1988, and just five years later, in 1993  at an IPEX exhibition in Birmingham introduced the first professional digital printing machine. Over the years, development has contributed to the fact that today Xeikon machines are present everywhere in the world, both in commercial printing, as well as in the field of printing labels and packaging. All Xeikon presses have in the commercial print option to print variable data, transaction documents, books, brochures, leaflets…, while on  the other side can in top quality print self-adhesive, transfer and IML labels in a myriad of different materials, as well as on the packaging, and the materials in thicknesses of up to 550 microns.

That the positive trends in the printing industry are increasingly turning to the labels and packaging, it is probably clear to every graphic artist, as it is clear and that digital printing technology is increasingly becoming a necessity for the successful operation of each printing house. The technology of digital printing allows an increase of profitability, reduce production costs, allows you to print variable data, reduces inventory costs and storage and drastically reduces waste. Xeikon machines allow all this and even more.

The material used for printing is the same as for flexo or offset printing, and doesn’t need any coating before the start of the press. Each machine has an automatic quality control, which guarantees the identity of the first and last impression. All Xeikon toners are completely environmentally ” clean “, have all the necessary certificates for the food industry, solvent-free, no odor, are recyclable and extremely high resistance to light.

New targeted and developed ICE toner allows, among other materials, and printing on sensitive PE and thermo materials. It has the same features as the QA-I toner, but has the low fixing temperature on the printing substrate.

To print on rough and textured print materials, which are often used in the production of packaging and labels, Xeikon developed a new fuser drum (Alpine fuser drum), which has a double layer and without any problems can be  replaced by standard drum. In this way he solved another problem when it comes to enhancing the quality of the uneven surfaces of different materials.

Control station X-800 was purposefully prepared for digital printing, has a completely open architecture and can be integrated into any existing process.

All Xeikon machine prints from a roll, which gives them a high speed, stable and high quality prints. Maximum roll width is 516 mm (footprint is 508 mm in width), allowing you to print full B2 format. The machines can print in five colors, CMYK + fifth color, which can be coupled with various spot colors and transparent dry toner (Xeikon Durable Clear Toner) which allows partial varnishing and thus protection, and resistance to scratches on the surface of the material. Using a fifth color range is wider, and therefore more Pantone color shades. In addition, there is the possibility of using a Xeikon color control program that lets you create your own recipe for printing Pantone colors.  It is printed at actual speed regardless of the number and coverage of colors. Length of printing is unlimited.

Xeikon machines allow for an increase in production as needed. In fact, all the basic machines can be upgraded to the speed and the width of the printed material. This means that the base speed of the machine, which is 9.6 m / min, can be upgraded to 15m/min or 19.2 m / min , while the width of the material can from 200 to be extended to 516 mm.
